First Impressions

When you first looked at this cupcake what did you think? Honestly! I care so much about my overall appearence of my products that I try and imagine what the person receiving this might say when they see it. I hope that when people order any item from me, I am leaving them with a first impression that will last a lifetime.

It's Electric

I purchased the new line of color gels from Duff "Ace of Cakes" and I was pretty impressed! The color takes pretty quickly and it's nice and pure! I used the Gold and the Electric Blue for the Build A Bear cupcakes. I hate when I need to use a specific color and not only do you need to use so much of it to get the color but it alters the taste of the icing. I am drumming up some cupcake ideas for the Electric Green and Purple! With Halloween right around the corner, it should not be too hard to get inspired! I urged you to try these if you haven't already and feel free to send me pics of your finished products!

Do me a Favor!

Additional Favor Boxes filled with molded chocolates and other popular goodies
(Silly Bands, and neon glow in dark bracelets)

A Cupcake Favor Box decorated for Ivana's 4th Birthday

Birthday Girl, Ivana celebrating her 4th Birthady with Friends and Family.
Jahmira and Ivana had a nice time together.

So I decorated these cupcake favors boxes for the Build A Bear Birthday party planned. Not the best pictures. I found out that my lovely son decided to take my rechargeable batteries out of my camera for his Xbox controller, so I had the pleasure of running around the mall looking for batteries. The lighting in the Food Court wasn't as good as in the store. Individual cupcakes were decorated in a primary color theme and coordinated with the theme of the boxes. Handmade cupcake picks and images downloaded cut out and colored using Stampin Up ink and blender pens! I really like these cupcake boxes, they are so handy. They are easy to assemble and decorate. I received a positive reaction from both parents and children so I guess I can these are a keeper!

Build A Bear

I am taking my daughter to a Build A Bear party this Saturday and I, I mean she is very excited! I was asked to make individual cupcakes for the children invited, along with goody bags! Oh yea! I like planning kids parties, they seem less intimidating than adults, but they're really not! If a child is not happy, you will know. Adults on the other hand will try and be polite about it! Anyways I had a sketch all worked out and I am finding the items I planned to use are not as available as I wished. I sometimes wished I could open my own store and sell all the things my neighborhood overlooks! Some of us want to be different and not have the same items at our parties that the last 100 customers just purchased! So now that I am planning around my original plans, I am hoping to stay on schedule. Looking forward to the challenge and my fingers are crossed.

So the baby shower plans went well, Dessert table looked fabulous! I had a lot of help from my family and I am so proud of everyone's effort and decorating abilties. In total we produced 4 dozen cupcakes, lollipops, chocolate covered marshmallows and preztels and cake balls! Also 80 favors that were placed at each table setting, 4 glass centerpieces with lifesaver pacifiers and a diaper cake! We put alot of work into preparing for this shower and I was happy to see the guest of honor in awe! A super huge thank you to Sophia for allowing me the opportunity to decorate and prepare so many yummy desserts!

Center of Attention

Remember I told you I took a trip to the Christmas Tree Shop last week? Well I decided to turn these regular glass vases I purchased into table centerpieces for the Baby Shower I am decorating next week. This idea can come in handy for many reasons and occasions. You can fill them with color coordinating candy, or other items like iridescent shred, marbles, or whatever your theme calls for. I was actually thinking of packaging this idea as a gift as well. Simply add baby themed items inside, wrap in cellophane, add a pretty ribbon and gift tag and its ready to go! Try adding the baby's name with rhinestones for a more personable gift. You can use this idea on many types of material other than glass, it can also be added to the theme of the baby's room for items that hold things like q-tips or cotton balls. The ideas are endless. By the way I am still learning how to showcase the items that I make as you can see with my home made photo studio!

Baby Bling

is the newest and hottest craze for baby shower ideas, gifts and accessories. As seen on the new hit cable show "Platinum Babies" on WEtv, people will spend amazing amounts of money to keep up with this trend and not just celebrities. Items such as pacifiers, shoes, clothing, rattles are just a few items that all have been decked out with some serious bling.

Where can you get it? I have put together a list of links where you can find these items here on the web.
